wifi internet

Verizon Wireless has announced that its mobile broadband customers will now have access to thousands of WiFi hotspots across the U.S. The availability of Wi-Fi will help customers reduce their data usage each month.

Users can use their mobile broadband account's VZAccess Manager to access a hotspot and can easily switch to 3G data when leaving. Customers with a Mobile Broadband or GlobalAccess plan are able to use the new service. A database of available WiFi hotspots is available by navigating to verizonwireless.com/wi-fi.

Press Release:

Mobile Broadband and GlobalAccess customers now have Internet access at thousands of Verizon Wi-Fi hotspots across the U.S., Canada and Mexico - without using a single megabyte of Mobile Broadband or GlobalAccess data allowance.

* Verizon Wi-Fi gives you a connection to the Internet. That means more surfing, more downloading, more email, more social networking - more of everything you use the web for. And the best part? It’s included with your Mobile Broadband or GlobalAccess plan.
* Manage your Mobile Broadband or GlobalAccess data allowance on your terms. Now you can save your data allowance for when you really need it.

What You Need

* A monthly Mobile Broadband plan
* A Mobile Broadband USB Modem, PC Card, ExpressCard ®, MiFi™ 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot* or netbook/notebook with Mobile Broadband Built-In
* A Wi-Fi enabled notebook or netbook running Windows® 7, Vista, XP or 2000
* VZAccess Manager version 7.2 or higher
